Ghulam Fatima's Story

Before you proceed to read the sorry tale of Ghulam Fatima, please know that you can help her. Your donation, however small it may be, will help Ghulam Fatima get the life-saving treatment she needs. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Ghulam’s cardiac procedures as much as you want.

Sixty-Eight years old Ghulam Fatima has been suffering from chest pain for the last month. Upon consultation, the cardiologist has advised Ghulam Fatima to undergo an Angiography and PCI. Angiography is an imaging test that uses X-rays to view your body’s blood vessels. The X-rays provided by an angiography are called angiograms. This test is used to study narrow, blocked and malformed arteries in your heart. Moreover, Ghulam has to undergo a PCI as well. Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI, formerly known as angioplasty with stent) is a non-surgical procedure that uses a catheter (a thin flexible tube) to place a small structure called a stent to open up blood vessels in the heart that have been narrowed by plaque formation.

While these procedures come with a promise of a better life for Ghulam Fatima, unfortunately, Ghulam Fatima cannot afford the hefty cost of these procedures. Her husband is the sole earner of the family. He works as a tailor and hardly earns PKR 20000 per month. He told us:

“Ever since my wife was advised to undergo these cardiac procedures, I started doing double shifts at the shop. It tired me to no limit but still, I do it for my wife. Sadly, it has been a month and, I still haven’t managed to save much.”

With the help of her doctor, Ghulam Fatima has registered her case with Transparent Hands. We wish to get her happy and healthy as soon as possible. But, we need your help with that. Therefore, we request you to donate for Ghulam’s cardiac procedures as much as you can.

Ghulam Fatima's Story

Ghulam Fatima, aged 68 years, had been hypertensive for over five years. Recently, she felt recurrent episodes of chest pain as well. Concerned, her son took her to a doctor who diagnosed Fatima with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The doctor advised angiography for her so that the condition of blood flow to Fatima’s heart could be assessed. For this purpose, Fatima was admitted to Patel Hospital and her angiography was performed by Dr. Rizwana Yasmeen on 27.05.2021. It was discovered that she had blocked arteries therefore cardiac stents were placed in her affected arteries. Fatima stayed in the hospital for two days and was discharged in a stable condition. Her health has improved significantly since she underwent her cardiac procedures.
