Gul Rehman's Story

Gul Rehman describes his pain as a sudden aching, pressure and tightness in the chest. Often, the world before his eyes fades away and he feels lightheaded. This has been going on for the last eighteen years. We cannot even imagine the stress Gul is going through. The only thing we can do is request you to please donate for Gul Rehman’s angiography so he can get the treatment he needs.

Over the last eighteen years, Gul Rehman has had three angina attacks. Upon consultation and thorough examination this time, the cardiologist diagnosed his condition as Acute coronary syndrome (ACS). An acute coronary syndrome is a term that describes sudden, reduced blood flow to the heart. It eventually leads to a heart attack which can be life-threatening. At first, the cardiologist prescribed some medication. However, as the problem persisted, the cardiologist advised him to undergo coronary angiography and PCI. Angiography is a technique to identify blockages in the coronary arteries. Whereas PCI is a non-surgical procedure that makes use of a catheter to place a stent to open up blood vessels in the heart.

Unfortunately, Gul Rehman cannot afford these procedures. He gets a meagre pension of PKR 8000 per month. This amount barely covers his expenses. He works as a caretaker in a local mosque. During a conversation he told us:

“Every day at sunrise, I sit in the mosque and watch the sunrise. The sky changes many colors at dawn. It used to be the only source of hope in my life. Transparent Hands is my second source of hope. Their kind and cordial staff have assured me that they would arrange my treatment for free.”

With your kind help, we will be able to arrange Gul Rehman’s treatment. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Gul Rehman’s Angiography. Help us save a kind life.

Gul Rehman's Story

Gul Rehman, 71 years old, has experienced breathing difficulty and chest pain on and off for the last eighteen years. On emergency presentation to the hospital, he was diagnosed with the acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and was advised to get a coronary angiography so doctors could have a better picture of the arteries in Gul’s heart. For this purpose, he was admitted to Patel Hospital and the procedure was performed by Dr. Rizwana Yasmin on 16.03.2021. He stayed in the hospital for one day and was discharged in a stable condition. Gul’s angiography was unremarkable and he was found to have sick sinus syndrome. His temporary pacemaker followed by a permanent pacemaker was placed. Gul recovered well and was recommended medical management for control of his disease.
