Hafsa Usman's Story

Hafsa Usman is a little girl suffering from congenital anatomical abnormalities. She needs your help to lead a normal and healthy life. We urge you to donate for Hafsa’s Contracture Release as much as possible.

Hafsa Usman, a seven-year-old resident of Kasur, has clasp thumbs on both her hands. She was advised to undergo contracture release surgery for her clasp thumbs. Contracture release surgery works by releasing or excising the scar and covering the defect with tissue that lengthens the scar. Local transposition flaps are advised if nearby tissue is available. Hafsa was taken to a public hospital for treatment, but due to continuous delays from the hospital, her parents could not secure an appointment for the surgery. After going through a lot of distress, Hafsa’s family found out about Transparent Hands and they came to us for help. Her left-hand surgery was done with the assistance of Transparent Hands back in August 2021 and now she has come to us for her second surgery of the right hand.

Hafsa’s father is a local movie maker and his income is not fixed. It all depends on the number of projects he gets in a month. They live in Hafsa’s grandfather’s house. With a family of five to support, Hafsa’s father can’t arrange the hefty amount for his procedure. Hafsa’s father shared his distress with us in the following manner:

“We’re already surviving on a shoestring budget. It’s next to impossible for us to pay for this expensive procedure. This impairment is not letting my little girl live her childhood to the fullest and I can’t do anything about it. It breaks my heart. Please help my child.”

We have registered Hafsa Latif’s case again and are determined to help her. But we need your support. Please donate for Hafsa’s Contracture Release and unlock a better and healthier future for her.
