Haroon Ali, a 32-year-old resident of Lahore, has been suffering from pain and swelling in the groin area for the past few months. He went to the doctor for a consultation. He was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia after a thorough evaluation and diagnostic tests. It is a medical condition when part of the intestines or other tissues stick out through a weak spot or tear in the abdominal muscles in the inguinal area, near the groin. The doctor advised him to undergo an inguinal hernioplasty. A mesh patch is used to reinforce the weakened abdominal muscles in order to repair an inguinal hernia.
