Three and a half years old. That is the age of Hussain Ahmed, a kid Mir pur Thalo district Ghotki. The little one suffers from problems that are much bigger than his age. Yes, Hussain Ahmed suffers from ASD. Ah, but you can’t recall what ASD is! It stands for Atrial Septal Defect, a condition in which a hole exists in the septum that separates heart atria. As a result of this defect, the oxygen-rich blood can’t be pumped to different body parts. We are sure that you get the picture of what little Hussain Ahmed goes through every day.

What is the solution to Hussain Ahmed’s problem? Medicines can provide temporary relief but these are not a permanent, long-term solution. What can fix Hussain’s problems forever? Well, Hussain’s doctors have recommended a cardiac surgery i.e. an open heart surgery for Hussain’s ASD woes. But considering the financial status of Hussain’s family, an open-heart surgery seems to be a dream that is too unrealistic to be materialized.
