Muhammad Hussain, a 19-year-old resident of Gujranwala, has suffered from cyanosis, dyspnea, and recurrent episodes of chest pain since birth. He is also unable to gain weight. His parents learned about his condition when he was five years old. They took him to the local hospital. After the diagnostic tests and evaluation, he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). This congenital heart defect is typically defined by a combination of four anatomical abnormalities of the heart. Due to some complications, he was not medically fit for the surgery. His family visited the hospital recently, and the doctor advised Hussain for Total Correction and Pulmonary Valve Replacement surgery after angiography.

He lives in a small house with his parents and eight siblings. His father is the sole earner in the family. He works as a laborer and earns PKR 35,000 per month. He has no other source of income. He is not financially stable to pay for the surgery. Hussain said with teary eyes:

” I want to complete my studies and find work to earn money and support my family. But, my heart condition won’t allow me to do so. Please help me with your kind donations.”

His family visited the hospital recently, and the cardiac surgeon advised Hussain for total correction surgery. He was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, where Dr. Asim performed his surgery on 5-1-2023. He was discharged from the hospital after a nine-day stay.
