Irfan Ali's Story
Irfan Ali, 29 years old, suffered a terrible roadside accident about ten years ago in which his right leg got injured. He was taken to the hospital and his open reduction & internal fixation (ORIF) was performed for femur fracture. His fracture healed at the time but the implant that was used to fix the femur bone in his right leg started causing a lot of pain with the passage of time. He visited multiple doctors. Since the pain did not subside with medicines, he was finally advised surgery for the removal of the implant.
Even though Irfan is suffering from excruciating pain, he does not have the money to pay for his implant removal. He is a daily wager and earns only PKR 13,000 per month. All six members of his family depend on him. Since, he is the sole bread earner of the family, he feels obligated to spend his income on the family and not on his own medical needs.
“My parents, wife and children are dependent on me for all their needs. We hardly make it through the month. How can I be selfish enough to spend on myself when I need to put food on the table for all of them and purchase medicines for my mother. The prospect of surgery seems impossible to me right now.”– says Irfan Ali
Coincidently, their family friends told them about Transparent Hands. Irfan immediately visited our office and got himself registered. Now, all he needs is your support to get his surgery done. We request you to donate generously for his implant removal surgery.
