Irtaqa Tahir's Story

Before you proceed to read Irtaqa’s tale of woes, please know that you can help him. Your donations, however small they may be, will help Irtaqa’s small heart to keep beating. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Irtaqa’s Open-Heart Surgery as much as you can.

Ever since Irtaqa was born, he fell prey to recurrent chest infections and high grade fever episodes. When the problems increased, Irtaqa’s parents consulted a cardiologist who diagnosed Irtaqa with a Tetralogy of Fallot.

Tetralogy of Fallot refers to a combination of four different defects of the heart. These four defects include ventricular septal defect, pulmonary stenosis, overriding of the aorta and right ventricular hypertrophy. Some of the common symptoms of TOF include bluish skin color (cyanosis), shortness of breath and loss of weight. Irtaqa has been experiencing all these symptoms since his birth, which is why his doctors have recommended him an open-heart surgery for total repair. While there is no doubt about the efficacy of the procedure, unfortunately, Irtaqa Tahir’s parents cannot afford the hefty cost of an open-heart surgery. Irtaqa’s father is the sole earner of the family. He works as a milkman and hardly manages to earn PKR 15,000 per month. With utilities and household expenses, he hasn’t been able to save up for his son’s surgery. He told us:

“My beloved son is only six years old. At the age of only six years old, he has suffered the pain of a lifetime. We are so scared of losing him, it aches our heart.”

Luckily, now that Irtaqa Tahir and his family have been connected with Transparent Hands, you can make this procedure possible. Your help can go a long way. Therefore, we request you to please generously, Donate for Irtaqa’s Open-Heart surgery and assist him in cherishing the gift of life.
