Ten years old Khawara Nawaz suffers from a congenital condition known as Anorectal Malformation. Anorectal malformations are congenital abnormalities, in which the anus and rectum do not develop properly.

To treat this condition, the doctor advised Khawara to undergo a series of surgeries. Khawara Nawaz has had a colostomy and an ASARP surgery. Now, as the third and final step of the procedure, Khawara Nawaz has to undergo a Colostomy Reversal surgery in which her back passage will be made functional at its usual position.

A colostomy closure surgery is an integral step in her journey towards recovery. However, it is not an affordable surgery. Unfortunately, Khawara cannot undergo the surgery right now due to financial constraints. Khawara’s father has passed away. Now, her mother is the sole earner of the family. She works as a house help and hardly manages to earn PKR 15000 per month. With this income, she cannot arrange for Khawara’s surgery. She told us:

“All of Khawara’s responsibility is on me. I do not know how I will arrange for her surgery with the meagre amount I earn every month. It is hardly enough for bills.”

Ten-year-old Khawara, a resident of Mandi Bahauddin, was born with Anorectal malformation. Previously, she had her colostomy and PSARP done through Transparent Hands. However, she required the third surgery of colostomy reversal. Therefore, she was sent to Ittefaq Hospital for her colostomy reversal. Her procedure was performed by Dr. Daud on 28-04-2022. Khawara was kept under observation for five days at the hospital. Your help made Khawara Nawaz’s complete treatment possible.
