Laraib Imran's Story

Laraib Imran is a five-year-old girl who was born with the condition of an abnormal stool path i.e. anorectal malformation. These malformations or defects happen either at the time of pregnancy or during the fetal developmental phases. Laraib has already undergone two surgeries for correction of this malformation, and what she needs now is a colostomy closure. These surgeries are performed to close the hole created previously and to reconnect the two ends of stoma. Typically, colostomy closures are performed three to four months after the main surgery.

So why hasn’t Laraib already undergone this surgical procedure that promises to put an end to her pain? How could she? Her father is a labourer, all he earns in a month hardly amounts to 15,000 PKR. That’s nowhere enough to manage a ten-membered family! Expecting Laraib’s father to afford her surgery is wishful thinking at best. Things look depressing, sure, but Laraib’s family still has one hope left in their arsenal. A friend who has already helped Laraib once before, a shoulder that is ready to share the burden once more. That old friend is Transparent Hands. Laraib’s father says:

“One of Laraib’s RVF surgeries was made possible courtesy of kind-hearted donors who donated for her campaign on Transparent Hands. And now when a colostomy closure can put an end to my little one’s pain forever, we find ourselves again in a position, where Transparent Hands can help my child more than anyone in this world”

Laraib’s father is optimistic about her little angel’s treatment, and we are not going to disappoint the man! But we need your help as well. You know the patient, you know the story! All that is left for you to do now is DONATE for Laraib Imran’s colostomy closure NOW!

Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.

Laraib Imran's Story

Laraib Imran, aged 5 years, was suffering from anorectal malformation (ARM) resulting in abnormal communication between the rectum and genital tract. Her colostomy was done with the assistance of Transparent Hands when she was 6 months old. 1.5 years ago her family revisited Transparent Hands to seek assistance for her PSARP. Fortunately she underwent PSARP and her back passage was constructed. Currently when she was advised to undergo colostomy closure, her parents came to Transparent Hands again. For this purpose she was admitted to Akram Medical Complex, where she underwent colostomy closure by Dr. Bilal Mirza on 07.04.2021. She stayed in the hospital for five days and was discharged in a stable condition. Now during post-operative recovery, Laraib Imran looks forward to leading a normal life.
