Donate for Mehmood’s Diagnostic Angiography & TOF Repair
Mehmood Shakeel's Story
Before you dive into the story, we want to let you know that four years old Mehmood Shakeel is in a state of uncertainty and distress. Your donations can get him the help that would relieve him of these worries. Therefore, we urge you to please donate for Mehmood’s diagnostic angiography.
Four years ago, when Mehmood Shakeel was born, the relatives and friends gasped at the state of his health. He was a feeble baby. At first, his mother shooed away the comments and focused on her son. However, despite her many efforts, Mehmood failed to gain any weight. Therefore, Mehmood’s parents immediately took him to the hospital. Seeing the frailty of Mehmood’s condition, the doctor referred them to a cardiologist. After running the ECHO test, Mehmood was diagnosed with congenital heart defects called VSD and Mitral regurgitation. The cardiologist advised him to undergo a diagnostic angiography to make a decision for the next step of management. Angiography is a diagnostic test that uses x-rays to take pictures of your blood vessels. In this procedure, A long flexible catheter is inserted through the bloodstream to deliver dye (contrast agent) into the arteries making them visible on the x-ray.
Unfortunately, this procedure is beyond their access. Mehmood Shakeel’s father works at a private firm. His monthly income is PKR 15000. Amid the rising inflation, rents and pandemic induced job insecurity, he is under immense stress. Therefore, he is in no position to arrange for his son’s cardiac procedures. His distressed mother told us:
“When my son failed to thrive as a baby, I did not worry that much. But now, when I see him, it scares me. What will become of my beloved child if he does not get the treatment he needs?”
After a lot of distress, Mehmood’s father has registered his case with Transparent Hands. We hope that with your kind donations, we will arrange his diagnostic angiography & TOF repair for free. Thus, we request you to please donate for Mehmood’s diagnostic angiography & TOF Repair as much as you can.
