Miraj Din, a 60 years old resident of Lahore felt a searing pain in his chest for the past one week. When the pain became out of control, he was taken to the hospital by his family immediately. After medical evaluation, the doctors ran some tests. After analysing the reports, the doctors diagnosed him to have been suffering from severe unstable Angina. Severe unstable Angina is another word for heart-related chest pain that occurs due to inadequate blood supply to the heart muscles. The doctor then advised him for PCI and Angiography. Angiography is an imaging test that visualizes the arteries of the heart and PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) is a family of different procedures used to open clogged arteries by restoring blood flow.
Unfortunately, Miraj Din cannot afford the hefty cost of an Angiography and PCI, as he is the sole breadwinner of the family. He earns PKR. 15,000 per month. In this income he supports his wife, one son and his family of 4. He also runs the house and provides for all the individuals living in that house. In this meager income, it is very difficult for him to afford his Angiography. He got to know about Transparent Hands through the hospital he got his tests done from. He shared his ordeal with in the following words:
“I cannot bear this pain. It has made me afraid. I cannot even pronounce the name of my disease but I am getting a feeling that I will not be able to fight it because I cannot afford the surgery. But Transparent Hands has assured me that they will support me. Please help me and donate for my case.”

Miraj Din's Story
Miraj Din, a 60-year-old resident of Lahore, had been enduring repeated chest pains and breathing difficulties for the past month. Upon consultation, he was diagnosed with unstable angina and was treated symptomatically but it did not bring him any relief. After re-evaluation, the doctor advised him to undergo Angiography. His angiography report indicated that he had significant blockage of his Coronary Arteries. For this purpose, he was sent to the National Hospital and Medical Center, Lahore. His procedure was carried out by Dr. Tayyab on 22-12-2021. Miraj Din was advised to undergo stent placement in further course treatment and was discharged the same day in satisfactory condition.
