For the last twelve years, Muhammad Aqeel has been suffering from nasal obstruction. Moreover, he could not breathe properly. Upon consultation, Muhammad Aqeel was found to have DNS.

DNS is a deviation of the nasal septum from the usual center of the nasal cavity. It causes nasal obstruction and blockage of the respiratory tract. To treat Muhammad Aqeel’s horrible condition, the doctor has advised a Septoplasty. A septoplasty is a surgical procedure to straighten the bone and cartilage dividing the space between two nostrils (septum). While this surgery promises a disease-free life for Muhammad Aqeel, it is in no way an affordable procedure.

Unfortunately, Muhammad Aqeel cannot afford the hefty cost of the surgery. Muhammad Aqeel is the sole earner of the family. He works as a salesman and hardly manages to earn PKR 17000 per month. With a family of eight to raise in this income, he is in no way able to afford his own surgery. He told us:

“It has been twelve years since I fell prey to this monstrous disease. I have not been able to breathe freely for the past twelve years. I sleep in perpetual discomfort, unable to sleep peacefully for a moment. Please help me.”

Muhammad Aqeel's Story

Twenty-four years old Muhammad Aqeel, a resident of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, has been enduring breathing difficulties and ear discharge for the last twelve years. Upon consultation, he was diagnosed with Deviated Nasal Septum. After the diagnosis was done, Aqeel was advised to undergo a Septoplasty. A Septoplasty is a corrective surgical procedure done to straighten a deviated nasal septum. Hence, he was sent to Darul Sehat Hospital for his procedure on 07-09-2021 by Dr. Sajjad Ali. Muhammad Aqeel was discharged after two days of hospital stay in a stable condition. Aqeel has now recovered and is living his life normally.
