Muhammad Arslan's Story

Muhammad Arslan is an 18 months old toddler, who is in immediate need of an Ileostomy for ileocolic intussusception (ICI). ICI refers to a condition  of intestinal obstruction which blocks food or fluid from passing through.  that develops when the terminal ileum’s mesentery i.e. intussusceptum invaginates into the cecum. An ileostomy reversal can bring Arslan’s bowel moment pattern back to normal, a surgical procedure that has high success rates but one that unfortunately Muhammad Arslan‘s family cannot afford right now.

Arslan hails from a Narowal based family that is going through a tough phase, finance-wise. Arslan’s father is a labourer, and his earnings are barely equivalent to a daily wager’s monthly income. In the 18,000 PKR that Arslan’s father earns every month, he has to support a six-membered family, a near to impossible feat to accomplish in these troubled times! Expecting little angel’s father to come up with adequate resources for managing his surgery can only be termed as wishful thinking. If anything, Arslan’s father’s words are enough to shatter the illusion of the possibility of a self-funded treatment for Arslan:

“COVID messed up our chances of having surgery at a government hospital. Post-COVID, every booking attempt we made has been unsuccessful. Private hospitals charge too much. As a family, we just don’t have enough funds to afford Arslan’s surgery. That is the bitter truth, the discomforting reality that I have accepted mentally, even if I am making futile efforts afoot every day”

Arslan’s father sounds pessimistic about his son’s treatment, and we don’t blame him. One has to put themselves in his shoes to understand and relate to his feelings of helplessness and misery. But you know what Arslan needs more than people relating to his pain? Help that matters! And one fine way of helping Arslan right now is to DONATE for his ileostomy reversal surgery NOW!

Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.

Muhammad Arslan's Story

Muhammad Arslan, aged 1.5 years, suffered from intestinal obstruction. The doctors performed an exploratory laparotomy to find out the reason. The report showed that he was suffering from ileocolic intussusception. Subsequently, his diseased intestine was removed and a temporary ileostomy stoma was made by the surgeon. Lastly, an ileostomy reversal surgery was advised. For this purpose, Arslan was admitted to Akram Medical Complex and the reversal surgery was performed by Dr. M. Bilal Mirza on 23.04.2021. He stayed in the hospital for five days and was discharged in a stable condition. Arslan enjoys perfect health now.
