Muhammad Asif's Story

29 years old Muhammad Asif has been suffering from severe pain in his perianal region. The pain was bearable until the last month when he contracted infection. Writhing in pain, he visited the nearest private hospital where he was diagnosed with a Fistula in ano – an abnormal hollow tract that connects a primary opening inside the anal canal to a secondary opening in the perianal skin.

The doctors advised a fistulectomy – a procedure in which a fistulous tract is excised completely. The surgery should be performed as soon as possible for Asif to resume his normal life.

Muhammad Asif works as a daily wage worker and keeps his household running on a measly income of PKR 12000 per month. Due to the severity of pain, he has not been able to work regularly in the past month. With a family of four to feed amid the pandemic inflation, he is in no position to bear his medical expenses.
