Muhammad Yousaf's Story

As if hypertension and diabetes mellitus weren’t enough to make Muhammad Yousaf’s life, his vision started deteriorating as well three months ago. Yousaf, aged 60, hails from Rawalpindi and has been recently suffering from an ocular disorder that has worsened his vision as well as has left pigmentary changes around the vascular arcades. While the more technical details can wait, for now, the important question that we are sure you are thinking about as well is that is there any treatment that can help Yousaf? And fortunately, the answer is in the affirmative. What Yousaf needs, as per his doctor, is phacoemulsification. Phacoemulsification with IOL is a painless procedure in which the ultrasound waves are used for dissolving ocular clouds and affected lenses are replaced with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). And while there is no doubt on the effectiveness of the procedure, there is no denying the fact that it is an expensive procedure. Exactly the reason why Yousaf hasn’t been able to afford it yet!

Just a glance at Yousaf’s financial situation is enough to understand how bad things are, as of now. Yousaf lives alone, but that does nothing to improve his financial condition. With no job or any other financial stream to support Yousaf, life has been anything but for the sixty-year-old man. He says:

“Eighteen years ago, I divorced my wife. Life has not been the same since then, and these last three months, in particular, have been too distressing and discomforting for someone my age. Some relatives have been kind enough to provide for me, but asking them for treatment so expensive like phacoemulsification would be plain unfair. In fact, if it wasn’t for Transparent Hands, I would not have much to bank on”

Transparent Hands is going to do everything for Muhammad Yousaf, anything that helps him have his ocular treatment. But we are going to need your help as well. All that you have to do is DONATE for Muhammad Yousaf’s left phaco with IOL NOW!

Muhammad Yousaf's Story

Muhammad Yousaf, 60 years old, suffered from loss of vision in his left eye from the last three months. He was already a patient of diabetes mellitus, asthma and hypertension. After medical consultation, he was diagnosed with cataract in his left eye and was advised surgery for it. For this purpose, Yousaf was admitted in Maryam Memorial Hospital and his phacoemulsification surgery along with intraocular lens implantation was performed by Dr. Ayyaz Hussain Awan on 09.01.2021. He did not have to stay in the hospital as his procedure was performed the same day. Yousaf’s vision has already improved.
