Muhammad Muneeb 's Story

Unfortunately, financial constraint is the only thing standing between Muneeb and a safe, stable life. Muneeb’s heart needs all your help to keep beating. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Muneeb’s VSD closure.

At the age of three years, Muhammad Muneeb had a chest infection with a high cough. At first, his mother tried to treat it with herbal remedies. However, as the cough persisted, she took him to a local hospital. Upon check-up, Muneeb was immediately referred to a cardiologist. Later, after a thorough examination, the cardiologist diagnosed him with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). VSD is a hole in the wall separating the two lower chambers of the heart.

At first, the doctor treated him with medication which kept him well and functioning for seven years. Three months ago, at the age of eleven, Muhammad Muneeb felt severe pain in his chest which caused a brief episode of breathlessness. Upon consultation, the cardiologist advised a VSD closure surgery for him. Unfortunately, Muneeb’s parents cannot afford the hefty cost of the surgery. His grief-stricken mother told us that:

“The doctor assured me that the medicines would heal my son. They will fill up the hole in his heart. Slowly, my son got better, and breathing became easier for him. We thanked God that the nightmare was over. But three months ago, he had another episode of breathlessness. He fell on the ground, and his lips turned blue. We are living in a nightmare again.”

Muneeb’s father is the sole earner of the family. He works at a clothing store and hardly earns PKR 18000 per month. All of his income is spent on household expenses and rent. Afterwards, he barely has any money left to save. In these poor circumstances, he is in no position to bear the hefty cost of his son’s surgery. Therefore, he has requested Transparent Hands for help. We urge you to please donate for Muneeb’s VSD closure. Only your support can save Muneeb so, donate generously.

Muhammad Muneeb 's Story

Muhammad Muneeb, aged 11 years, a resident of Sialkot was suffering from recurrent chest infections and dyspnea on mild exertion for the past four years. Upon cardiac assessment, he was diagnosed with ventricular septal defect (VSD). He was advised by his cardiologist to undergo open heart surgery for VSD closure. For this purpose, he was admitted to The University Of Lahore Teaching Hospital Lahore, where Dr. Faiz Rasool performed open heart surgery for VSD closure on 09.03.2021. After five days of hospital stay Muhammad Muneeb was discharged in a satisfactory condition. The surgery was conducted with the support of Pakistan Children Heart foundation and other donors. A child who has had VSD closure, requires lifelong care, an optimized lifestyle and examinations by a cardiologist.
