Mussarat Bibi's Story

Mussarat is suffering from epigastric hernia. It is a painful condition that can be treated with surgery, but her family is not in a financial state to pay for her hernia surgery. We urge you to donate for Bibi Safia’s hernioplasty.

Mussarat, a 60-year-old resident of Karachi, went to a local hospital for a general checkup four years ago and told the doctor that she was suffering from lower abdominal pain. Initially, the doctor prescribed painkillers. After one year, when her condition worsened, she revisited the hospital and the doctor advised an ultrasound. After a thorough evaluation, she was diagnosed with an epigastric hernia. These are lumps or bulges in the upper part of the abdominal wall that cause pain and discomfort. The doctor advised her to undergo hernioplasty to fix the hernia.

She lives in a rented house with her husband and four children. Her husband is a retired sweeper who receives just PKR 22,000 monthly as a pension. Her husband is unable to pay for her surgical expenses. She said in distress:

“I always feel a dull pain and tiredness. If you’re reading this, please support the surgical treatment I need so that I can live an active life.”

Her case is now registered with Transparent Hands. Her family members have placed their hopes in your hands. We have assured her family that we will provide her with the best treatment. The surgery will allow her to overcome the pain and fulfill her household responsibilities. She needs a healthy life to look after her children. Her children also want to see their mother as active and healthy as before. You can contribute to bringing relief into her life. We urge you to donate for Mussarat’s Hernioplasty to reduce her discomfort. She will be grateful for any contribution you make.

Mussarat Bibi's Story

Mussarat Bibi was a 60-year-old patient from a small village in Karachi, belonging to a poor family. She had been struggling with an umbilical hernia for a long time. The constant pain and discomfort made it difficult for her to perform even the simplest of tasks. She consulted with her doctor and was advised to undergo surgery to correct the hernia, but she couldn't afford it. She felt hopeless and helpless until she learned about Transparent Hands, an NGO known for its mission to provide healthcare to underprivileged communities in Pakistan.

Mussarat Bibi approached Transparent Hands for help, and from the first moment, she felt their empathy and kindness. The team listened to her story, understood her situation, and immediately began working on finding a solution to her problem. She was then admitted to United Hospital on 8th November for general surgery to repair her umbilical hernia, performed by the experienced surgeon Dr. Shumaila Ayub on 12th November.

The surgery was a success and Mussarat Bibi recovered well, being discharged just two days after the surgery, on 14th November. The entire experience was emotional for Mussarat Bibi, as she couldn't believe how Transparent Hands changed her life. She felt like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders and was finally able to see a brighter future ahead of her. She no longer had to struggle with pain and discomfort and was now able to live her life to the fullest.
