Three-year-old Muhammad Mustafa, a resident of Nowshera, was born without the ability to hear. His parents noticed this and took him to the hospital for a consultation when he was a year old. After a thorough evaluation and some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with sensorineural hearing loss. They have advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery, which will enable him to hear. A cochlear implant device holds the promise of granting Muhammad Mustafa the ability to hear and explore the world of sounds for the very first time. The implant consists of two components, which will be surgically placed in two separate procedures, with a two-week interval between them. This transformative journey can bring a symphony of new experiences to Mustafa’s life.

Mustafa lives in a joint family of eight members. His father is a daily wager and earns just PKR 25,000 per month. He has no other source of income. A cochlear implant is an expensive surgery. Due to financial constraints, he is unable to afford the surgical expenses. His father said in a depressed tone:
