Donate for Nafeesa’s Cataract Surgery
Nafeesa Kausar's Story
Before you proceed to read about the details of Nafeesa Kousar’s ailments, please know that you can help her. Your donation, however small it may be, will help us arrange for her cataract surgery as soon as possible. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Nafeesa’s cataract surgery as much as possible.
For the last two months, fifty-one years old Nafeesa Kousar has been suffering from a Cataract in her right eye. A cataract is a dense, cloudy area that forms in the lens of the eye. It begins when proteins in the eye form clumps that prevent the lens from sending clear images to the retina. The retina works by converting the light that comes through the lens into signals.
To treat this condition, the doctor has advised Nafeesa to undergo a Phacoemulsification with IOL. Phacoemulsification is a modern cataract surgery method in which the eye’s internal lens is emulsified with an ultrasonic handpiece. Later, the doctor will replace it with an intraocular lens implant or IOL. While this surgery promises a less cloudy future for Nafeesa, it is in no way an affordable procedure. Unfortunately, Nafeesa Kousar cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery. Nafeesa’s husband was the sole earner of the family. But, due to his heart condition, he is unable to work. Nafeesa used to sew clothes for other people. But, due to her deteriorating eyesight, she is unable to keep that up. She told us:
“In an effort to make ends by stitching I have lost half my eyesight. Please help me.”
After a lot of effort, Nafeesa Kousar has requested Transparent Hands for help. After due medical and financial verification, we have registered her with us. We wish to arrange her cataract surgery as soon as possible. But, that won’t be possible without your help. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Nafeesa’s cataract surgery as much as possible.
