Donate for Pakeeza’s Cochlear Implant Surgery
Pakeeza Nadeem 's Story
Pakeeza was born without a sense of hearing. She has a beautiful name, but it is so unfortunate that she cannot hear her own name or respond to her parent’s voices. She can gain the ability to hear with cochlear implant surgery, but her parents cannot afford it due to financial constraints. We request you to donate for Pakeeza’s Cochlear Implant Surgery and help us introduce her to the world of sounds. It is only possible with your financial gift.
Three-year-old Pakeeza, a resident of Lahore, has been suffering from hearing impairment since birth. When she was a year old, her parents noticed that she did not respond to their voices. Her parents took her to the local hospital where her tests were done. Upon consultation, she was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss. The doctor advised her to undergo cochlear implant surgery. A cochlear implant is a small electronic device that sends electrical signals to stimulate the cochlear nerve (nerve for hearing). The implant has internal and external components. The external part picks up sounds with a microphone. Then, it processes the sound and transmits it to the internal part of the implant.
Pakeeza lives in a small house with her parents and three siblings. Her father is a shopkeeper and earns only PKR 30,000 per month. A cochlear implant is an expensive surgery. Due to financial constraints, her father cannot afford the surgical expenses. His father said in despair:
“It will be the happiest day of my life when my daughter responds to her name. Please help me to fulfill my wish by donating generously for her cochlear implant surgery.”
A friend of her parents told them about Transparent Hands and they registered Pakeeza’s case with Transparent Hands. We want her to hear her parent’s voices soon. But, we need your help to make a family’s dream come true. We urge you to donate for Pakeeza ’s cochlear implant surgery to improve the quality of her life.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.

Pakeeza Nadeem 's Story
Pakeeza Nadeem, a 3-year-old resident of Lahore, had been living in silence since birth. Her parents became concerned when she couldn’t respond to voices like other kids. Worried about her condition, they took her to a local hospital for medical evaluation. After comprehensive tests, the doctor diagnosed her with congenital sensorineural hearing loss. The doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery to help her hear and speak. However, the cost of the surgery was overwhelming for Pakeeza’s family. Pakeeza lived in a small house with her parents and three siblings. Her father, a shopkeeper, earned only PKR 30,000 per month—barely enough to cover the family’s daily expenses. With this meager monthly income, affording such an expensive surgery was beyond their means. During this time of need, Pakeeza’s parents turned to Transparent Hands for support. We registered her case and through the generous support of donors, we arranged surgery for her at a reputable hospital on our panel.
On December 19, 2024, Pakeeza was admitted to the National Hospital in Lahore. Dr. Naveed Aslam performed the surgery, successfully implanting the internal component. Pakeeza stayed in the hospital for post-operative care and was discharged the next day in stable condition.
After six weeks, the external component of the cochlear implant will be installed, allowing Pakeeza to hear for the first time. She will also begin speech therapy sessions to develop her communication skills.Pakeeza’s parents shared their overwhelming gratitude as follows:
“Your support has given our daughter a new life. We never imagined she would be able to hear one day. It feels like a miracle and a dream come true for our family. We are forever grateful for this life-changing blessing.”
Thanks to your compassion and generosity, Pakeeza’s world is changing. Your kind support has given her the chance to experience the joy of sounds. Her family extends their deepest gratitude to you for making a valuable impact on her life.
