Qaloo Khan's Story

Qaloo Khan, aged 46, hails from the Lakhi Marwat district of the country and suffers from a prolapsed disc. This medical condition reflects a state in which the outer fibres of the intervertebral disc are injured. As a result of this, the soft material inside the disc ruptures, leading to severe lower back pain. Unfortunately, in Qaloo Khan’s case, the symptoms are a lot more painful, including numbness & paraesthesia of the lower limbs. Moreover, Qaloo Khan also suffers from severe spinal stenosis. These conditions have prevailed for the last ten years or so, and now, things are at a point where surgical treatment is simply unavoidable. The surgical procedures which Qaloo Khan has been advised include laminectomy & discectomy.

A laminectomy refers to a type of surgery in which a surgeon removes all or some part of the vertebral lamina of a patient. This is done to release pressure on the spinal cord area or the nerve roots. In Qaloo Khan’s case, this pressure is caused because of the herniated disc. To remove the ruptured disc material, a discectomy is performed, which simply put, is the surgical removal of the aforementioned material. While there is no doubt on the effectiveness of these surgical procedures, the fact these are super expensive cannot be denied either. And Qaloo Khan’s current financial status doesn’t allow him to afford these surgical procedures. He says:

“Managing a seven-membered family with no regular income is an impossible feat to achieve. Throw in my surgery, and things become even harder to manage than they are right now. I am cognizant of the bitter realities of life, which is why my hopes about my neurosurgery were always low. In fact, I would have given up already, if I didn’t believe in miracles!”

There is still a fire of hope burning inside Qaloo Khan’s heart. And it is your donations that will add fuel to this fire! You know the patient, you know the story! All that is left for you to do is DONATE for Qaloo Khan’s L4-5 Laminectomy & Discectomy NOW!
