For the last six months, Qurat ul Ain has been suffering from Gallstones. Gallstones are hardened deposits of bile salts that can form in your gallbladder. Bile is a digestive fluid produced in your liver and stored in your gallbladder. When you eat, your gallbladder contracts and empties bile into your small intestine.

To treat this condition, the doctor has advised Qurat to undergo a Cholecystectomy. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a surgery to remove a cholelithiasis patient’s gallbladder. A laparoscope is inserted through incisions which facilitates the surgery. While the surgery offers a permanent solution to cholelithiasis, there is no denying the fact that it is quite an expensive medical procedure.

Unfortunately, Qurat ul Ain cannot afford to arrange for her Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. Qurat’s husband is the sole earner of the family. He works as a Rickshaw driver and despite working for long hours in this scorching heat, he hardly manages to earn PKR 20,000 per month. With the ever-rising inflation and rent to pay every month, he is in no position to save for his wife’s surgery. He told us:

Qurat Ul Ain's Story

Qurat ul ain , a 42 years old woman, had been suffering from abdominal pain for the past six months. After visiting different local doctors for check ups she was finally diagnosed with symptomatic gallstones. After the diagnosis she was advised to get her Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy done to remove her gallbladder. For this purpose she was admitted to Akram Medical Complex on 27-07-21 for her surgery. Her surgery was carried out by Dr. Ahmed Fawad and she was discharged after one day in stable condition. Qurat ul ain has now fully recovered. She is now looking forward to living a healthy life.
