Rasheeda Bibi's Story

Life has not been kind to Rasheeda Bibi. Before you dive into Rasheeda’s tale of woes, please know that only your help can get her back up on her feet. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Rasheeda’s artificial leg.

Two years ago, Rasheeda suffered from a diabetic foot in her left leg. A diabetic foot is any pathology that results directly from peripheral arterial disease (PAD) or sensory neuropathy affecting the feet in diabetes mellitus; it is a long-term complication of diabetes mellitus. Due to the spread of infection in her left leg, Rasheeda’s leg had to be amputated at a below-knee level. After the wound healed, the doctor advised her to get a below-knee prosthesis for her left leg.

Therefore, for the past two years, Rasheeda has been hovering around on crutches in search of an artificial leg. Due to the COVID outbreak and partial closure of public hospitals, she is unable to get it from any public hospitals. Unfortunately, Rasheeda Bibi cannot afford the hefty cost of a prosthetic leg on her own. Rasheeda’s husband is the sole earner of the family. He works as a laborer on daily wages and hardly manages to earn 15000 per month. In a conversation with us, Rasheeda Bibi’s husband told us:

“It breaks my heart to see my wife walk with the help of crutches. She used to be such an active lady, always doing one thing or the other. Now, she has been bedridden for two years. I wish to see my wife active and back up on her feet again, but I cannot afford to get an artificial leg.”

Therefore, with their doctor’s help, Rasheeda Bibi and her daughter have registered themselves with Transparent Hands. We hope that with your kind donations, we will be able to arrange her artificial leg for free. Therefore, we urge you to please donate for Rasheeda’s artificial leg. Help us get her back up on her feed.

Rasheeda Bibi's Story

Rasheeda Bibi, aged 43, a resident of Hafiz-a-bad, is a patient of diabetes. Rasheeda Bibi was suffering from a diabetic foot. Because of this reason two years back, her left foot got infected with gangrene. The doctors amputated the two fingers to stop the spread. Unfortunately, her operated wound got infected too. As a result the doctors decided to perform a left below knee amputation. After the left below knee amputation, Rasheeda Bibi was unable to run her daily errands. It has been two years since she underwent this trauma. Now, in order to perform her normal daily activities she required a left below knee prosthesis. For this purpose she was sent to Hope Rehabilitation Centre. There she received her new prosthetic leg after consultation with Dr. Khalid Niazi on 03.09.2021. She is undergoing therapy and is adapting to her new leg. She will be able to walk normally again soon.
