Rasheed Khan Muhammad's Story
Rasheed, 56 years old, was suffering from chest pain for one month. Initially, he ignored the symptoms. But, when the discomfort and shortness of breath became unbearable for him, he decided to get himself checked by visiting a local hospital. The doctor conducted various tests and identified his condition as an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). It is characterized by decreased blood flow in the coronary arteries as a result of which part of the heart muscle is unable to function properly. Rasheed was recommended an angiography and a percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) by his cardiologist. The angiography would help reveal the condition of his coronary arteries and stents would help in opening up any clogged arteries.
Though, the procedure will relieve his cardiac symptoms, yet he does not have the financial means to opt for it. He works as a gardener and earns only PKR 13,000 per month. His three children are dependent on him. In this salary, Rasheed is hardly able to fulfil all the monthly expenses.
“I get breathless after doing little work and the chest pain has been unbearable for the past few days. My health is even affecting my work now. But I will never be selfish enough to spend on my treatment and overlook my children’s needs.”– says Rasheed
Despite all the hardships, he still did not get discouraged and visited many local hospitals in hopes of getting free or cheaper treatment. However, he was not facilitated. At last, his physician told him about Transparent Hands. He visited our office to get himself registered.
Your donations could help him get the recommended treatment procedure. Therefore, please do consider making a generous donation for him.
