Donate for Sania’s Cardiac Procedure
Sania Abbas's Story
Before you dive into Sania’s tale of woes, please know that you can help her. Your donation however small it may be will enable us to arrange for Sania’s life saving cardiac procedures. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Sania’s cardiac procedure as much as you can.
Eight years old Sania is a frail child. Unlike other children of her age who are often found running behind an ice cream cart, Sania sits still in a corner catching her breath. Upon asking for her history, Sania’s mother told us that when Sania was nine months old, she suffered from high fever along with nausea and vomiting. Her parents took her to the hospital. Upon check-up, Sania was found to have congenital heart disease. Sania suffers from Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). A patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is an abnormal communication between the aorta and pulmonary artery that allows for oxygenated (red) blood to pass into the lungs. The news of Sania’s congenital heart disease played havoc with her parents’ heartstrings. They were distressed beyond belief. They circled back and forth to several hospitals in search of treatment but could not get a date anywhere.
Later, after seeing the reports of her chest X-ray, ECG and ECHO, the cardiologist told Sania’s parents that the PDA device occlusion procedure is the last hope for her cure.
Unfortunately, Sania’s parents cannot afford the hefty cost of this procedure. Sania’s father works as a tailor in a hosiery factory and hardly earns PKR 28000 per month. With rent and daily household expenses, he is in no position to arrange for his daughter’s procedures. He told us:
“The ground beneath our feet swept away when the doctor told us about my daughter’s sickness.”
After a lot of distress, Sania’s parents have registered her case with Transparent Hands. We wish to get her happy and healthy as soon as possible, but we need your help with that. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Sania’s cardiac procedure.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
Sania Abbas's Story
Sania Abbas, an eight-year-old girl, has suffered from repeated episodes of chest infection since her birth. Her parents got worried and took her for medical consultation. The test reports revealed that she was suffering from a moderate form of a congenital heart defect called patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). The cardiologist advised PDA device occlusion as the definitive treatment. For this purpose, Sania was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore and the procedure was performed by Dr. Najam Haider on 22-11-21. She was discharged from the hospital in a satisfactory condition. Sania’s health has improved significantly
