Shakeel Usman's Story
Before you dive into Shakeel’s tale of woes, please know that you can help him. Your donation, however small it may be, will help us conduct his Angiography. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Shakeel’s Angiography as much as you can.
Unaware of his weakened heart, Shakeel was asleep when he woke up with a sudden jolt of cough and palpitations. The palpitations and breathlessness led Shakeel to the unconscious. For the last three months, Shakeel has been circling back and forth to various hospitals. But, unfortunately, he has been unable to get the right diagnosis for his pain. After a lot of waiting, one of the doctors advised him to get an Angiography. Angiography is an imaging test used to visualize the arteries of the heart. As per the results of Angiography, Fazal Rauf will go through a procedure of PCI. Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) is a non-surgical procedure to improve the blood flow to the heart.
Unfortunately, Shakeel cannot afford the hefty cost of this procedure. Shakeel is the sole earner of the family. He works as an Uber driver and hardly earns PKR 20,000 per month. With this income, he is hardly able to put food on the table for his family. Shakeel told us:
“I spend a lot of hours on roads. Driving people here and there. Most of the days it seems as if I am walking on eggshells, waiting for my chest pain to start again. I am so tired of waiting for the other shoe to drop.”
After a lot of distress, Shakeel has registered his case with Transparent Hands. We wish to get him healthy as soon as possible. But, that won’t be possible without your help. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Shakeel’s Angiography.
Disclaimer: Transparent Hands makes sure that all the patients get surgery in time. If a patient requires urgent surgery and his/her condition is serious, Transparent Hands conducts the surgery immediately. In the meantime, his/her campaign stays active on the website until we raise the complete funding. The hospitals on our panel have complete trust in us and wait for the payments until the patient's funding is completed.
Shakeel Usman's Story
Shakeel Usman, aged 47 years, suffered from sudden onset of chest pain and breathlessness. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a heart attack. This happened around three months ago. Since then, he underwent extensive medical examination and was diagnosed with double vessel coronary artery disease (DVCAD). The doctor advised an angiography for him for better assessment of blood flow to his heart. For this purpose, Shakeel was admitted to National Hospital and Medical Center where his angiography was performed by Dr. Tayyab Mohyuddin on 25.05.2021. Shakeel’s left main coronary artery was found to be blocked and a stent was placed to open it. He stayed in the hospital for one day and was discharged in a stable condition. Shakeel’s health has improved a great deal since he underwent his cardiac treatment.
