About two years ago, 40-year-old Sharafat Ali was involved in a terrible road accident. It resulted in injury to his right leg. Even though he had been treated at that time and it looked like things were back to normal. But unfortunately, that is not what happened. By profession, Sharafat Ali is a hawker, who only earns around 10,000 Pakistani rupees per month. Within this limited income, a total of 8 family members have to be provided for and 4 of them are young children. Sharafat cannot even consider getting a suitable treatment!

Luckily, he can still hope. Sharafat’s condition is diagnosed as avascular necrosis (AVN) of his right femoral head. In this condition, there is an interruption of blood supply to the bone and this causes a lot of problems. Extreme joint pain characterizes this condition, but Sharafat can be relieved from it. The doctors have recommended a total hip replacement surgery for his right hip. The only problem is, he cannot afford the procedure.

Sharafat Ali's Story

Sharafat Ali, 40 years old, was diagnosed with avascular necrosis of right femur head and was advised a total hip replacement surgery for it. He was admitted in Lahore Care Hospital, Lahore and the surgery was performed by Dr. Abdul Latif Shahid on 08-12-2020. He stayed in the hospital for three days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition. Sharafat is slowly getting back on his feet now.
