Shumaila Noor's Story

Before you proceed to read the gory details of Shumaila Noor’s ailment, please know that your help can relieve her pain. Your donations will help Shumaila Noor get the right diagnosis for her pain. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Shumaila’s CT scan as much as you can.

Imagine the pain of a short term headache and how it pulls the plug on your entire day. You feel dizzy, unable to open your eyes and think properly. Shumaila Noor has been suffering from a constant headache for the last two months. The rest of the body also bore the brunt of this pain. At first, Shumaila deemed it a temporary headache and took painkillers for relief. However, later, when the painkillers did not work, and the pain persisted, she consulted a doctor.

To reach the right diagnosis, the doctor has advised her to undergo a CT scan. A computerized tomography (CT) scan combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles around the body. It uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside the body.

Unfortunately, Shumaila Noor cannot afford the hefty cost of a CT scan. Shumaila Noor is financially dependent on her husband who is the sole earner of the family. He works as a labourer and hardly earns PKR 15000 per month. Shumaila Noor told us:

“Some days the pain is so intense that I am unable to open my eyes. Every voice feels like an assault on my senses. I don’t even know the reason for this blinding pain.”

After a lot of distress, Shumaila has registered her case with Transparent Hands. We are determined to get her diagnostic procedure as soon as we can. Now, all we need is your help. Please donate for Shumaila’s CT scan so she can get the right diagnosis for her pain.
