Muhammad Umair 's Story

Umair’s childhood is being negatively impacted by his multiple heart defects. His physical growth is slow, and he does not have much energy. This makes it hard for him to interact with his parents or play with other kids. But his future looks uncertain if he does not have heart surgery. The cost of the surgery is out of his family’s reach. We urge you to donate for Umair’s Cardiac Surgery and save his ailing heart.

Four-year-old Umair, a resident of Bahawalnagar, has been suffering from cyanosis, dyspnea, and repeated episodes of chest pain. His parents noticed his deteriorating health recently. They took him to the local hospital. After running some diagnostic tests, the cardiologist diagnosed him with multiple heart defects, including Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction (RVOTO). The doctor advised him to undergo open-heart surgery for VSD closure and RVOTO resection.

He lives with his parents and six siblings in a small house. His father is the only breadwinner for the family and earns PKR 20,000 monthly as a laborer. The family was already struggling to make ends meet, and the cost of this life-saving heart surgery was simply too much for them to bear. His father said in a depressed tone:

“My son was born with multiple heart defects, and it has been a daily struggle for him ever since. Help us give him a better future; please respond to my plea.”

One of their relatives told them about Transparent Hands, and we have registered Umair’s case. We will give him the best care possible as we have assured his parents. It is our collective duty to help those who are struggling. Help us give him the chance he deserves at a long, healthy, and happy life. Any amount, no matter how small, will help us get closer to our goal of healing him. Please donate for Umair’s Cardiac Surgery and give what you can to help his family in their time of need.

Muhammad Umair 's Story

Umair, a four-year-old resident of Bahawalnagar, had been experiencing symptoms of cyanosis, dyspnea, and recurring episodes of chest pain. Concerned about his deteriorating health, his parents took him to a local hospital. Following a series of diagnostic tests, a cardiologist delivered a complex diagnosis: Umair was found to have multiple heart defects, including Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction (RVOTO). The cardiac surgeon advised him to undergo open-heart surgery to address the VSD closure and RVOTO resection.

Regrettably, Umair's family faced a significant financial challenge as the cost of the required surgery exceeded their means. However, determined to find a solution and provide their beloved son with the necessary surgery, his family contacted Transparent Hands for financial support.

Umair was admitted to the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital, where he underwent surgery on 25-07-2023 by Dr. Faiz Rasool. Following a comprehensive three-day post-operative period, Umair's condition stabilized, and he was discharged from the hospital.

The success of Umair's surgery can be attributed to the skill and dedication demonstrated by Dr. Faiz Rasool and the medical team at the hospital. Their dedicated commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare to young patients like Umair was evident throughout the entire process.

Umair's family expresses deep gratitude for the assistance they received during this challenging period. The support provided by compassionate individuals and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation underscores the importance of ensuring that every child has access to life-saving medical procedures.

With the surgery behind him, Umair can now embrace a brighter future. The closure of his VSD and the resection of the RVOTO have alleviated his symptoms and granted him the opportunity to lead a healthier, more fulfilling life. The resilience and determination exhibited by Umair and his family serve as an inspiration to others who may be facing similar challenges.
