Younus Nazeer's Story

Fifty five years old Younus Nazeer, a resident of Lahore, has been suffering from chronic Diabetes for many years now. Previously, for the last three years, he was suffering from inflammation in his right foot. With the passage of time his foot got gangrenous. His son took him to the hospital where Younus was given symptomatic treatment that unfortunately proved to be ineffective. Over time, the infection worsened and it spread above his knee level. After further consultation, the doctor advised him right above knee amputation to stop the gangrene from further spreading.

Younus has now healed and seeks a right prosthetic leg. His son is the only breadwinner of the family and works as a laborer. He barely earns enough to assist the basic needs of his family, so affording a prosthesis for his father seems out of the question. While talking to one of Transparent Hand’s team member, Younas shared his distress in the following words:

“Life had been difficult with diabetes already but now this amputation has left me in this dark room filled with grim. Transparent hands is my only hope. I have been welcomed by these people here and they have assured me that the whole procedure will be free of cost.”

Younus got to know about Transparent Hands through a neighbor and he visited us. We have verified and registered his case and we’ll make sure he gets his prosthetic leg. Younus Nazeer's Story

Younus Nazeer, a 55-year-old resident of Lahore, had been suffering from chronic diabetes due to which he got a diabetic foot. Two years ago, his foot got infected with gangrene. The doctors advised him to undergo a right above knee amputation. After the right above knee amputation, Younus Nazeer was unable to run his daily errands. It has been two years since he underwent this trauma. He required a right above knee prosthesis to perform his normal daily activities. He was sent to Hope Rehabilitation Center where he received his new prosthetic leg after consultation with Dr. Khalid Niazi on 24.12.2021. He is undergoing therapy now as advised by the doctors and he will be able to walk normally again soon.
