Zareena Liaquat's Story
Before you dive into Zareena Liaquat’s tale of woes, please know that your help can save her life. Your donation, however small it may be, will change Zareena’s life for good. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Zareena Liaquat’s chemotherapy as much as you can.
Around her fiftieth birthday, Zareena’s life took a rather unfortunate turn. Four months ago, Zareena developed a lump on her neck. At first, she did not pay much attention to it. However, later, she consulted a physician.
The doctor diagnosed her with cancer, more specifically, Hodgkin lymphoma. It is a type of lymphoma in which cancer originates from a specific type of white blood cells called lymphocytes and results in enlargement of lymph glands. Zareena’s condition has caused her fever, night sweats, and rapid weight loss. Zareen’s life has taken a rather unfortunate turn of events. Doctors have recommended chemotherapy for her cancer treatment. Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses a regime of anti-cancer drugs. She requires a six months course of treatment. Zareena also suffers from diabetes mellitus and hypertension, which makes her case more complicated and crucial.
Unfortunately, Zareena cannot even afford the cost of her chemotherapy. She is financially dependent on her husband who works as a daily wage worker and hardly earns PKR 25,000 per month. Zareena’s daughter told us:
“Cancer is such a big word. We always thought of it as some kind of a monster who lives far away and we won’t ever have to deal with it. Now, the reality has become much more frightening than that distant thought.”
After a lot of distress, Zareena Liaquat has registered her case with Transparent Hands. We wish to get her cancer-free as soon as we can. But, we need your help with that. Please donate for Zareena Liaquat’s chemotherapy as much as you can.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website.
