Ghulam Fareed's Story

“Ghulam Fareed, a resident of Ram Kot in Lahore was a happy family man until one and half years ago when a bike accident ran havoc in his pleasantly blissful life. He underwent surgery in an emergency where doctor placed implant in his right leg due to fracture. His leg recovered in a few weeks’ time but his implant started causing him severe pain. He went to another doctor where he was told that implant used to fix his leg was not of good quality due to which it has caused pain in his leg and may cause further infection if not treated in time.”

Doctor has recommended that the implant in his leg needs to be removed for normal functioning. Only after the implant removal, he’ll be able to walk pain-free and earn for his family. Ghulam is going through a rough phase in his life. All the family members are dependent on his income but it kills him from inside when he sees them suffer because of his condition.

Ghulam is sole earner of his large family of 8 members. He used to work as a daily wage labourer but now he cannot even walk for a few miles due to throbbing pain. His parents and siblings are much worried due to his condition as this family is now living hand to mouth. They have no other source of earning and they have to ask their relatives and friends for monetary support. Ghulam’s father is a heart patient and he is unable to help his son in his crucial time.

This family knocked many doors for help but always returned empty-handed. That’s when they came to know about free surgical treatment facility of Transparent Hands.

Ghulam Fareed is now scheduled for his implant removal in a few days at Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of The Disabled (PSRD). But his struggles don’t end here. Your donations can end this young man’s misery and save him.
