Hadiya Liaqat's Story

Hadiya is a 3 years old child born with anorectal malformation (rectovestibular fistula) – a congenital defect that affects the development of the anus. It is a serious issue because it gets difficult for her to evacuate stool through normal passage. This malformation results in infection in the urinary and reproductive system.

Since the age of 1 month, Hadiya has been visiting the government hospitals on a regular basis for her treatment and at the age of 2.5 years, doctor had operated her to make her colostomy as a temporary solution for passage of stool out of the colon to prevent the risks of colon cancer. Doctor advised that Hadiya will require another surgery to close the colostomy and to make a normal passage for stool.

Hadiya’s father works as a technician and hardly earns only 16,000/- per month. She has three school-going siblings. Their entire family lives in a small house owned by her father. Liaqat is a responsible father trying to fulfill all the necessities of his children but Hadiya’s treatment is beyond his financial limit.

Hadiya is scheduled for her Anorectoplasty in a few days at Akram Medical Complex. If all of us step forward, we can save her from leading a brutally disturbing life. Our donations can give her access to normal life and give back her right to live in comfort and ease.

Hadiya Liaqat's Story

4 years old Hadiya was suffering from Anorectal Malformation (ARM) resulting in abnormal back passage opening into her genital tract. She was operated at the age of 2 ½ years to make temporary alternate passage for passing stools and was advised surgery to construct her back passage at the normal site. Her surgery was done in Akram Medical Complex on 26-12-18 by Dr. Naveed Haider and her Anorectovaginoplasty (PSARP) was done. She stayed for three days in hospital with good post-operative recovery and was discharged in good health.
