Kalsoom Bibi's Story

“My children ask me about Kalsoom’s disease and I tell them not to worry, even when I know that it is something to worry about. This deadly diagnosis has worked as a huge rock in my life. I feel burdened with limited income and 7 stomachs to feed along with my wife’s medical treatment on my shoulder” –Kalsoom’s husband told TH.

36 years old Kalsoom is suffering from CA Breast (Breast Cancer) from the past 8 to 9 months. She has complaints of breast pain along with the visible lump in her right breast. Chest tightening and pain are the symptoms that she has been facing since the visibility of the lump.

For her treatment, she has visited many local and private hospitals but none of them cooperated in the surgery expenses nor facilitated her properly. Temporary medication was provided for pain relief but for permanent relief, nothing was suggested in affordable rates.

Kalsoom’s husband works as a salesman and earns 14,000 PKR per month. She has 5 children, 3 sons and 2 daughters. All of the household expenses are on the shoulders of her husband solely.
