Maria Khan's Story
Maria Khan is 19 years old beautiful girl who lives in a small house in Lahore with her ill parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Her mother is a cancer patient and she is currently getting free treatment from a local hospital in Lahore. Maria’s father is also suffering from various diseases including heart disease, hernia and allergic issues. He had repeated heart attacks since 2001 till now.
Maria is in her third year of B.A. (Bachelors of Arts). She felt severe pain around 4 years ago but she ignored it. She often used to feel this pain but never paid attention to it thinking that it’s a mild pain which will go with time. Just around 1 1/2 months ago, her pain got worse and unbearable. She went to a doctor where she was diagnosed with recurrent appendicitis. Doctor told her to undergo surgery to treat this but Maria’s family can’t afford the surgical expense.
This family is struggling hard in managing their day to day expenses. Maria’s one brother is the sole earner of the family. He works in a bookshop as a salesman and hardly earns around 8,000 rupees a month. In such meager income, it is very hard for them to pay for the household expenses and for their parents’ medication.
Luckily, they got to know about Transparent Hands through someone. Now she is scheduled for Appendisectomy in a few days at Akram Medical Complex. Hopefully after surgery, she’ll be able to study and work without any difficulty.
Donate for her surgery so that she can get back to her healthy and pain free life!
