Muhammad Khizer's Story

“All these years, I’ve worked hard to provide for my son but arranging money for his treatment is impossible for me. It feels like being poor is a sin but what I could do. Muhammad Khizer is a 2 years old child who was born with a birth defect known as Epispadias Disease. This refers to a rare congenital abnormality that involves the opening of the urethra (the tube from which urine exit the bladder). As soon as his parents got to know about his disease, they visited many local hospitals in hope of treatment but none of them gave any positive response.

His father works as a laborer and hardly earns 18,000 PKR a month. Khizer is their only son and they have a strong emotional bond with him. Khizer used to be a happy and healthy baby boy but for a last few months, his pain has increased and he often cries due to this. His parents couldn’t see their only child going through so much pain in such a young age, therefore, they started contacting several NGOs for monetary help and that’s when they learned about Transparent Hands.

Luckily, Khizer is now registered with Transparent Hands and cannot wait to undergo surgery for permanent relief.
