Donate Muhammad Waqas for his Duhamel Surgery
Muhammad Waqas's Story
“Waqas is a sweet little boy who is very friendly. But his illness has caused him to become irritable. Please help my son regain his health. I want to see him cheerful again.” – Waqas’s mother.
Waqas is a patient of Hirschsprung disease (HSCR) – a severe condition resulting in blockage in the intestine. He was suffering from constipation, severe abdominal pain and abdominal swelling. At the age of 1 year, he got his colostomy procedure done at a hospital in Lahore.
Waqas’s condition did not improve and doctor has recommended him another surgery for permanent relief. He is unable to attend school. Also, he is facing the same hygiene and cleanliness issues that children with this ailment often endure. He has become very cranky. His fellow children refuse to play with him due to his often smelly and unclean state. This has greatly decreased his confidence.
As a laborer, his father only earns Rs 12,000 a month. He has two children, Waqas and a 6 month old daughter. With such nominal income, he is unable to afford the expenses of Waqas’s medical surgery.
Waqas’s biopsy suggests him to undergo the Duhamel Pull through procedure but the financial inability of his parents is a hindrance to his complete treatment. Fortunately, his father came to know about Transparent Hands and the organization has taken up his case.
Kindly donate liberally for Waqas. Our contribution will put back the smile of this innocent child.
