Sana Ullah's Story

“We are losing our son in front of our eyes and we are unable to do anything to save him. I want nothing but to see our son in good health. We want him to grow up normally and have a comfortable life in the future.”- Sana’s father.

Sana Ullah is a 3 years old baby boy who was born with Congenital Heart Disease. He was diagnosed with abnormal heartbeats and fatigue. His skin, fingernails, and lips had turned bluish in color. His condition worsened so much that the doctors had to operate him at the age of 6 months at a local hospital in Lahore.

Later, Sana Ullah developed kidney stones and his health condition worsened after the stones moved to the urinary bladder causing severe pain. He had to undergo surgery for bladder stones at the age of 1 year and then operation for left kidney stones at the age of 1.5 years.

When he was 2 years old, doctors done an Angiography and concluded that he needs a second heart surgery which will consist of De-banding COA & VSD closure procedures to open the narrowing of the aorta, to reduce pulmonary artery pressure and also fix the hole in the separating wall of two lower chambers of his heart.

Sana Ullah’s father is a labourer and earns only 7000 PKR per month. He has 3 sons and 2 daughters and the whole family is living in a small house in the backward area where proper living and medical facilities are unavailable. In these circumstances, this poor father is unable to pay for his son’s heart surgery and other medical expenses.

Sana Ullah's Story

Sana Ullah 3 years old boy was experiencing bluish discoloration of his skin on exertion since birth. He was diagnosed with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Coarctation of Aorta (CoA). His PA banding was done at the age of 6 months as the palliative operation. His open heart surgery to close VSD and PA-debanding was done in Ittefaq Hospital on 26-02-19 by Dr M. Asim Khan. He had good post-operative recovery and remained admitted in hospital for 5 days. He was discharged in satisfactory condition with stable vitals.
