Seerat Fatima is 8 years old beautiful girl who is living in a small house in Lahore with her parents and 2 younger sisters. Seerat loves to go to school with her siblings but due to her health condition, she is unable to do anything. Seerat is a born patient of Congenital Cardiac Defect involving Perimembranous Restrictive Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and severe Right Ventricular Outflow Tract (RVOT) Obstruction.

She was only 8 days old when her heart disease was diagnosed. Her parents took her to a hospital from where she received necessary treatment to provide her temporary relief. Doctor advised her parents that Seerat needs to undergo open heart surgery without which her life will be in danger. Eight years have passed and Seerat’s health has worsened with the passage of time. The hospital from where she was getting temporary treatment refused to conduct her surgery free of cost due to long list of children who are already waiting for their surgeries. In such tough times, Seerat’s father passed away twenty days ago due to cardiac arrest. Her father used to work as a property agent and earned around 15,000 rupees a month. In such meager income, he was taking care of his family expenses. Now, Seerat’s family is left with no support after her father’s death. Seerat’s health is deteriorating with each passing day. She experiences chest congestion, weakness and cyanosis (skin turning blue). She is bedridden most of the time. Her mother is also becoming ill after her husband’s sudden death. They are struggling to cope up with the loss and at the same time they are striving to save Seerat’s life.
