Sidra Bashir's Story

Sidra Bashir is a 12 years old beautiful girl who lives in a small village of Khanewal with her parents and 3 siblings. They all are studying in the same school. Sidra’s father is a labourer and hardly earns around 350 rupees a day. Sidra’s mother is also earning around 250 to 300 rupees a day by working in a factory. Together, Sidra’s parents earn around 12,000 a month. In such meager income, this family is struggling to make both ends meet.

Since last one year, Sidra has been suffering from severe pain in her abdomen along with digestive issues and vomiting. Her parents took her to various doctors but she didn’t get any relief from them. She finally underwent some medical tests and was diagnosed with epigastric and umbilical hernia. Doctor advised her to undergo surgery to correct these defects as this is the only way to get permanent relief. Sidra’s parents don’t have enough resources to get their daughter operated. Sidra is finding it hard to go to school and study actively due to her painful symptoms. Her parents are very worried for her and they want to see her happy and healthy again.
