Sufiyan Atif's Story
Any delay in surgical treatment can result in death of this 21 months old baby boy
Sufiyan’s mother tries to make her little son play but he cannot. It breaks her heart to see her little son struggling with his heart disease every day. He is unable to gain weight and grow normally like other kids. Sufiyan showed no signs of illness when he was born. When he was only 9 months old, he started experiencing difficulty and discomfort while breathing. His parents immediately took him to a hospital where he was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) and Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) – congenital heart defects.
He has become extremely weak now and unable to get up and play. His parents took him to a local hospital where he was initially treated. Doctor suggested his parents to prepare Sufiyan for open heart surgery as soon as possible. Without the surgery, Sufiyan might face other complications. His parents don’t have enough money to pay for his surgical expenses. Sufiyan’s father works in a call center and hardly earns around 30,000 rupees a month. In such meager income, he has to pay school fees of his kids, pay for household expenses and also take care of medical treatment of his old mother. In such tough situation, it’s nearly impossible for this family to pay for Sufiyan’s surgery.
They contacted various local hospitals for free of cost surgical treatment but they gave them surgery date of few years. Sufiyan cannot wait for such a long time. If he doesn’t get required treatment on time, his parents might lose him. With the help of Transparent Hands, Sufiyan is now scheduled for his open heart surgery in a few days at Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore but his struggle doesn’t end here. He needs your support in his surgery.
We request you to please donate for his heart surgery as much as you can so that he can start growing healthy like other kids of his age.
Donate and save his life now!
