Abdul Bari's Story
“I want to arrange for this surgery as soon as possible to make sure my son’s future is safe. Doctors have informed us that the more it gets delayed, the harder it will be to perform the corrective procedure later and it could have serious repercussions on his adult life.” – Abdul’s father, Nabeel
Abdul Bari, 17 months old, is suffering from a right undescended testicle, a condition in which the testicle does not move into its proper position after birth. In order to correct his condition, the doctor has recommended surgery known as orchidopexy. Ideally, this surgery should be conducted as early as possible, while he is still a toddler. Abdul’s parents, however, do not have the resources to afford the surgery and have had to keep putting it off.
Nabeel, Abdul’s father earns 15,000 – 16,000 PKR/month as a laborer. On this salary alone, he has to fulfill the responsibilities of his son and wife as well as partly contribute to the expenses of his joint family that consists of his 6 brothers and their families. It is well outside of his means to seek treatment for his child so he has asked Transparent Hands to aid him.
