Abdul Rahman's Story

Abdul Rahman, 13 years old, has been experiencing immense pain and discomfort in the groin region since he was 6 years old. Upon consultation with a doctor, he was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia. He needs to undergo a right hernioplasty in order to find relief from the pain.

At the age of 6, Abdul Rahman and her mother visited a private clinic where the doctor prescribed some medicines which did not provide relief. They also pursued religious treatment but to no avail. A local hospital that they visited did not help either as they stalled them and provided a very late surgery date.

“After Abdul Rahman’s father passed away 5 years ago due to heart disease, I have tried to provide for my family , but I earn only roughly 2000 PKR per month. Abdul Rahman needs additional funds for his surgery and I have even sold some goods but we still do not have enough. It is very tough for me to see my son in pain.” – Abdul Rahman’s mother

Abdul Rahman lives in a very small house with his mother and one other sibling. The family is heavily dependent on their relatives’ support as his mother cannot earn enough. They were referred to Transparent Hands for a free treatment which is why they visited the office requesting help.

Abdul Rahman's Story

Abdul Rahman, 13 years old, was diagnosed with right inguinal hernia and was recommended an inguinal herniotomy to fix it. He was admitted in Akram Medical complex and the surgery was performed by Dr. Ahmed Fawad on 09.11.2020. Abdul Rahman’s hernia was successfully repaired. He stayed in the hospital for two days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition. He has had a good post-operative recovery.
