Ahmad Muhammad Ullah's Story
“My son started complaining of stomach pains some weeks back. He would not eat. What we did manage to make him swallow, he would throw up. He kept screaming through the night with the pain in his swollen abdomen. We were shocked and helpless seeing the pain of our child.” – Ahmad’s father
Muhammad Ullah wasted no time in taking his 5-year-old boy, Ahmad, to a government hospital in Rawalpindi only to find out the bad news that his child has a right inguinal hernia. The child needs immediate surgery to fix the abnormality. Youngest of Muhammad Ullah’s five children, Ahmad is a bright and sweet child who is adored by everyone in the family.
Muhammad Ullah rents a small scrap shop and provides for his family with a mere income of 25000/- PKR each month by reselling waste materials. He is the sole earner for the growing family. They live in a small rented house in a congested neighborhood of Rawalpindi. Despite meager income from a declining business, Muhammad Ullah sends all his children to school. In these difficult economic times, his income often fails to provide even basic needs to his dependents.
When Ahmad’s condition worsened, his parents took him to a government hospital but were kept in a long queue. When the doctor finally examined him, he informed the distraught parents that the child requires immediate corrective surgery. Ahmad has been given a date for the surgery in the coming weeks. Overwhelmed by the expenses of the operation that his child desperately needs, Muhammad Ullah contacted Transparent hands and requested for help in paying for Ahmad’s surgical treatment.
Help Ahmad get the surgery he needs so he can go back to school!
