Anfal Bibi's Story

Anfal, 4 years old, is suffering from chronic tonsillitis that has resulted from repeated attacks of sore throat for the last two years. She experiences high fever, acute pain in the throat, and difficulty in swallowing whenever she gets sick.

Her father took her to the nearest local hospital where the doctors diagnosed her with tonsillitis. He recommended her to undergo surgical removal of the tonsils, or a tonsillectomy because without it, her symptoms will continue to occur again and again. The local hospital gave the 4-year-old a date for the surgery in the year 2021.

“Her fever suddenly climbs really high and my poor girl is unable to eat or drink anything. She keeps crying when we try to feed her because it’s so painful for her to swallow.” – Anfal’s mother

Luckily, someone at the local hospital in Mardan told them about Transparent Hands and the fact that they would help them get the surgery free of cost. They contacted TH immediately and were asked to visit Ahmed Medical Complex without wasting any time. There, the case was registered and now Anfal needs our help to get the surgery.

Anfal’s father is a driver and works hard seven days a week to earn and be able to provide for his family but only earns a small salary of 12,500 PKR/month. Apart from Anfal, he has three other children who, along with his wife, are all dependent on his income.

With numerous expenses to think of on a daily basis, it is not possible for Anfal’s father to pay for his daughter’s surgery.
