Arshad Nazeer's Story

“When I was shifted to Old Age Home, I knew it was going to be stressful. My depression was already eating me up from inside out. It was so troublesome that instead of  supporting me, my wife decided to divorce me. I had no other choice but to take shelter in this home. Even among many age-fellows here, I still feel alone. I try to calm myself down but every time, my mental condition pushes me into the corner of my existence and I suffer even more.” – Arshad while talking to a team member of Transparent Hands

72 years old Arshad was sitting in the corner of his room when we approached him. He hesitated at first but then started talking non-stop as if he was dying to share his feelings with someone but nobody was there to listen to him.

Arshad used to work as a property dealer but some incidents struck him due to which he ended up in this state. He started to have panic attacks which resulted in his divorce as his wife couldn’t handle him. When he didn’t receive any support from his family, he decided to move to Old Age Home where he has been living for last few months but his struggles didn’t end here. Arshad was diagnosed with recurrent inguinal hernia causing him severe pain, discomfort and inability to walk. He needs to undergo Hernioplasty as soon as possible to get rid of his hernia. Unfortunately, Arshad doesn’t have money to pay for his surgical treatment. He is now registered with Transparent Hands and needs your generous support for his surgery.
