Azra Parvin's Story

“Some days, it is really hard to keep going on. I cannot rest even though my health does not permit exertion and stress. I do not have the luxury. Who will look after my house and my children? But it gets really hard to keep going on with this pain. I just want to be healthy so I can take care of myself and my family.” – Azra

Azra Parvin, 39, has been experiencing pain in her Right Hypochondriac area along with abdominal stretch and vomiting for the past year. She has been diagnosed with Cholelithiasis and the doctors have advised a Cholecystectomy for relief.

Azra, her husband, and their 4 children live in a small house near Sahiwal, which has been lent to them by relatives. Most household duties are taken care of by Azra but over the past 6 months, her condition has incapacitated her. Her husband lost one eye in an accident and severely damaged the other. He works as a street vendor and earns a paltry amount of 10,000 rupees every month on average.

Transparent Hands was contacted to help get her a free Cholecystectomy.
