Bashiran Bibi's Story

Bashiran Bibi, aged 45 years, is suffering from utero-vaginal prolapse for the last decade. Her symptoms have, however, worsened over the past two years. She is experiencing a lump coming out of her genital tract, frequent abdominal pain, and backache, making her unable to do basic tasks or even sit properly. The doctors have now advised her surgery- vaginal hysterectomy with anterior repair- as a permanent cure.

Bashiran Bibi and her husband have three sons and one daughter. Her elder son and husband both work as laborers and collectively earn 12,000 PKR per month. This family lives hand to mouth on this limited income in a small house in Khanewal. Despite Bashiran Bibi’s adverse symptoms, she was unable to seek help because of her financial constraints. Bashiran Bibi, 45 years old, was suffering from lower abdominal pain & protrusion of the uterus for the last 10 years. She was diagnosed with utero-vaginal prolapse. She was advised to have vaginal hysterectomy to correct this. Her procedure was done in Abid Hospital by Dr. Sadaf Aqeel, on 03-06-20. She stayed in the hospital for 3 days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition.
