Bushra Bibi's Story

Bushra Bibi, 28 years old, is pregnant with her third child. She has a son and a daughter, one of whom is 1.5 years old and the other, 3 years old. She experienced difficult prolonged labor during both her previous deliveries due to which, her children were delivered via lower segment C-section (LS CS). Given her history, her third baby is also scheduled to be delivered in the same way.

Bushra Bibi and her family do not have a reliable source of income. Her husband works as a rickshaw driver and earns only on days he can find customers. On average, he makes 10,000 – 12,000 PKR/month. This income alone is responsible for the needs of his wife, children as well as his mother. Since Bushra Bibi does not have any resources to pay for her child’s delivery, she has asked Transparent Hands to register her case for donations.
